How powerful is the 2023 Hyundai Kona?
A whopping three engines are available for the 2023 Kona, giving drivers a distinct amount of power. The first two trims, the SE and SEL, come standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder capable of producing a solid 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. If you go with the N Line or the Limited, you will receive a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder that pushes out 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque which comes with a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Finally, there is the Kona N, which has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a high-octane 276 horsepower, which you can boost to 286 horsepower when fully equipped with 289 lb-ft of torque which pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
What does the Kona have for features?
The 2023 Hyundai Kona comes loaded with features sure to please drivers and passengers alike. The SE is the base level trim, and it's one of the best-equipped base-level trims on the planet as it comes with a cloth interior, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, a rear spoiler, an 8.0-inch audio touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and cruise control. Next is the SEL trim, which takes things up a notch with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, rear privacy glass, and Sirius satellite radio. The highest trim level the Kona has to offer is the Kona N which comes standard with many performance items such as an aerodynamic body kit, N mode, and an 8-speed DCT transmission.
Is the Kona a safe vehicle?
On top of having some fantastic tech and a ton of power, the 2023 Hyundai Kona is also one of the safest vehicles on the road, with several advanced safety items. For starters, there is the standard Forward Collision Mitigation system that warns you of an impending collision and can even apply the brakes if the driver fails to do so.
