2021 Hyundai Santa Fe vs Honda CR-V

Are you looking into getting a new SUV? If you are, then you know all of the frustration that goes along with car shopping as you price different models and try to find a vehicle with all the features that suit your needs. We here at Pearson Hyundai want to help take some of the stress off of you by comparing two top model SUVs! The Hyundai Santa Fe and the Honda CR-V come with solid engine choices and tons of available features, but only one has the advantage. For the answer, we have compared both of these SUVs for your reading pleasure. Continue on to see which one comes out on top!

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Power & Handling

There are three engines available for the Hyundai Santa Fe, and each one is as impressive as the last. The first two trims, the SE and the SEL, come standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 191 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the higher trims up the ante with a turbocharged version of the 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes an outstanding 277 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque that comes with a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission. Every trim has the option of a spectacular hybrid engine that uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and combines with an electric motor to deliver a combined 225 horsepower. Rear-wheel-drive is the default setup, but four-wheel-drive is available for that added traction. On the hybrid engine, four-wheel-drive comes standard.

2021 Honda CR-V Power & Handling

Two engine options are available for the Honda CR-V, a four-cylinder and a hybrid, and they do a decent job of getting you to where you want to go. All trims come standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers a solid 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. Pairing with this engine is a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive. All-wheel-drive is available, which is fine, but we like the four-wheel-drive of the Santa Fe better. As for the hybrid, it's a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor that pumps out 212 horsepower, which is a tad weak when you compare it to the Santa Fe's hybrid option.

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Features & Design

There are four trim levels available for the Hyundai Santa Fe, and each one has an exorbitant amount of features. Starting things off is the SE, which comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a stain-resistant cloth upholstery, and an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Several safety features, including forward collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control, are also available. Moving up to the SEL brings in more outstanding features such as a keyless entry with push-button ignition, a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, wireless device charging, and heated side mirrors. If you want more luxury, you're in luck as the top two trims, the Limited and Calligraphy, are loaded with them! Included are upgraded LED headlights, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, rain-sensing wipers, premium leather seating with quilted stitching, a blind-spot camera, and a head-up display.

2021 Honda CR-V Features & Design

Four trims are also available for the Honda CR-V, and there are some interesting features here. The bare-bones trim is the LX, and it comes with automatic climate control, manually adjustable front seats, and a four-speaker audio system. A few drivers aids, such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams, are also available. The EX adds some features on top of the LX, including tinted rear windows, sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The top two trims, the EX-L and the Touring, round things out with a power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, roof rails, LED headlights, and a wireless phone charger.
