2020 Hyundai Accent vs 2020 Kia Rio

When shopping for a sedan, we understand you are most likely looking for a vehicle that offers incredible gas-milage so you can spend less time and money filling up at the gas tank and more time doing other things like traveling. With a sedan, we're also sure you're looking for a ton of features at a great value. If you're looking for all that and more, we suggest you take a look at the 2020 Hyundai Accent and the 2020 Kia Rio! Below we're going to go over everything these two vehicles have to offer so you can decide which sedan is right for you.

2020 Hyundai Accent Power & Handling

Under the hood of each Hyundai Accent is a 120 horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 113 lb-ft of torque. The engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission for those that enjoy shifting the gears themselves or a continuously variable automatic transmission for those that want the Accent to do the work for them. All Hyundai Accent models come with front-wheel-drive.

2020 Kia Rio Power & Handling

There is one engine that powers both of the Kia Rio models. That engine is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission and power is driven through the front-wheels.

2020 Hyundai Accent Features & Design

There are three models in the Hyundai Accent lineup. The base model SE comes loaded with Bluetooth, a four-speaker sound system, a backup camera, remote entry, USB ports, and a CD player. The mid-level SEL adds on a telescoping steering wheel, fog lights, heated mirrors, hill start assist, a 7-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, and dual USB ports. The top of the line Limited tacks on a sunroof, heated front seats, automatic climate control, forward collision avoidance, and an auto defogging system.

2020 Kia Rio Features & Design

As we stated above there are only two trims in the Kia Rio lineup. There is the LX and the S, the latter being the only model that can equip the optional Technology package. The Rio LX comes standard with heated side mirrors, air conditioning, a backup camera, smartphone integration, a USB port, a six-speaker sound system, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The S model adds on a center console with a sliding armrest, an additional USB port for rear passengers, cruise control, and remote entry. You can then outfit the S model with the Technology Package, which adds forward collision warning, emergency braking, and LED headlights.

Conclusion:

We have to go with the 2020 Hyundai Accent on this one. We love the manual transmission option, something you don't see a lot of these days and all the features that come packed into each model in the Accent lineup! If you'd like to get behind the wheel of the new Hyundai Accent, we hope you will come on down and see us here in Richmond, VA!
